      • my gym has one good olympic bar(eleiko) that I use to pull. I use it because every single other bar in the gym is bent and also some bullshit diameter like 32.7869476mm. There is also 2 sets of 20kg eleiko bumpers. This means that it works out to 220# when I use all this for my base. So you see, whenever I add plates to that I’m “5# off” what it should be. so 400 is even plates, whereas 405 would mean adding micros to my bar, which looks really, really retarded.

Also, no fucking way will I actually write my training down where anyone can see it anymore. That’s just embarrassing.

      • it’s a joke. I did 400 today & 310 on things all the time. Also, I’m a notorious hypocrite. Yesterday I told Wo that I would not RDL pussy weights which I defined as 250-300. Today RDL 275.

But start a blog and talk about your mopery or something. Even fatman and wo did it.

  1. How far do you space your feet? I put mine like an inch away from the plates. Seems to work. If you got flexibility to space your feet stupid wide like that and cheat the lift, it’s great.

    • I’m the wrong guy to ask about sumos. but to answer: like 3 inches from the plates. but I have shorter legs than most humans. I line my shins up with the grooves on the bar. Some of my sources say to point toes out; a louie article said to point toes forward if allowable. I’m trying to watch at least one instructional video a day on the subject.

    • To avensis,

some people can get away with just putting their feet as wide as possible but generally its best your feet are under your knees with your shins perpendicular to the floor for best push off the ground. imnldo (in my no longer deadlifting opinion).

      • I have tried to switch to sumo DLs a number of times because they’re supposed to be easier for the T-rex armed. I have failed an equal number of times. But I still pull some warmups sumo, and sometimes even venture into the low 400s.

The only way I can lift more than 300 sumo is to do a modified sumo stance where my feet are not that much wider than conventional stance.

      • I tried 415 after and possibly broke it off the ground. I think if I was a bit more ambitious and put 415 on first I could have done it.

But no, I’m a pussy, no more Bulgarian go to max everyday for me.

The rep scheme I used to warmup was like, 135×10, 225×5. 315×1, 405×1. I could have maybe gotten more if I didn’t ice skate for an hour before the attempt and only eat 2 slices of sweet potato pie filling (crust didn’t turn out good) for breakfast.

But hey, in the 400 camp now. Deadlift, my one trick ooh ahh pony. Brb getting pinned under a 170lb bench.

  2. This reminds me of another blog I used to read about lifting weights, except this one is better. The other one was written by a hotshot tough guy who quit updating it to commit to his incestuous relationship with his cousin. Also he’s Korean, so of course he’s a piece of shit.
