Workout #28 – Sat, 11/2/13

Back is almost back to normal and only gives a little twinge at odd times.

Front Squat: 45×4, 95×3, 135×2, 185×1, 225×1, 250×1, 275×1, 290×1, TM 300×1; 225×2, 230×1,2,2, 205,210,215×3 (16)

When I was done there was this guy who looked like a semi-serious lifter hanging around.  He was wearing those barefoot shoes, but also spandex pants.  Which are okay for straight  men to wear in a number of instances.  For example: speedskating, and um… well there’s…hmm.  Anyhow, I told him that I was done with the rack and he said: “Oh, I can’t do front squats with free weights yet.”  This puzzled me, and I considered asking if he was injured.  But I thought better of it, nodded gravely, put my headphones back on, and carried on.  I noticed that he went up to 185 lbs on the Smith Machine.

Deadlift: I reminded myself before each super-light set that I am not a specially different robot.  Then did 30 reps of singles, doubles & triples with up to 235 lbs.  This is what happens when you don’t follow good advice from smarter people.  You have to regress to a baby weight.  Afterwards, my back felt awesome.  And tomorrow I will do it again, a little heavier.
